Landen is 2!

Last month Landen turned 2 and we had lots of fun celebrating him! We had family and friends over on his birthday for cake, presents and a piƱata! He loves balls and he saw a basketball cake while I was perusing Pinterest and once he saw the "baketball" there was no changing his mind. So I did a basketball cake and had some help decorating the ball cupcakes. They all turned out pretty cute!

Since turning two his vocabulary has exploded and he is talking so much more now. He is such a sweet boy and we are so happy he is part of our forever family.

Summer 2014

This summer is slowly coming to an end and it has flown by. I feel like our entire summer was made up of packing, moving, unpacking cleaning and organizing at the new house, and trying to adjust to life with 3 kids. We did manage to sneak some fun in though!

The beginning of July Marshall's parents left on a mission to Denver and we moved in to their house. We are in the process of getting our house sold and we will hopefully start looking for another lot to build on here soon. Moving with 3 kids, one being a newborn was quite the experience ha! We did it though and are now settled in the new place. The kids have done amazing with the move.

I also spent a lot of time teaching Sydney at home this summer to help prepare her to take the early entrance test to see if she could start kindergarten. She is so smart and retains every bit of information. She took the test a little over a week ago and we quickly found out that she passed. She will be starting kindergarten this week! I still can't believe she's old enough to be in school. We are so proud of her!

Some of the fun activities we did were:

• 4th of July parade and fireworks
• swim
• water gun fights
• car parade
• jump at indoor trampoline park
• take the boat out
• spending the nice nights playing outside with the kids
• birthday parties
Next week we are headed to the Oregon coast with my family and I can't wait!

Jace Tanner DeCoria

My pregnancy went really well with baby number three. No problems or issues. Landen arrived two weeks early on his own so I was sort of expecting the same thing this time around. Which was a mistake, because that did NOT happen. At 38 weeks I was dialated to a 3, at 39 weeks at a 4, and I figured this boy would come on his own anytime. But he had other ideas so I ended up scheduling to be induced on the 18th just two days shy of my due date. This was my first induction, and I gotta say it was kind of nice! Marshall had been insanely busy at work and one if our employees up and quit on us, so to be able to schedule a time on the weekend when Marshall was already off was really nice! It was also amazing to finally have a baby during the day instead if middle of the night!

We arrived at the hospital at 830 in the morning and ended up hanging out and waiting for a little while. They hooked me up for a bit to monitor the baby and around 1030 finally got things started by giving me pitocin and then broke my water. For the first hour on pitocin it didn't really do much. I just has random contractions that weren't the least bit painful. Marshall left to eat lunch before things got crazy and my parents stayed and kept me company. About 1130 the nurse informed me that if I wanted an epidural at any time then it would be about a half hour out when I did ask for it because the anesthesiologist was in a surgery. I decided to go ahead and request it so I could get it before the real pain started. Right after requesting it the contractions started hitting me super close together and they instantly got super painful. The half hour wait ended up being an hour and a half wait so I unfortunately did not get the epidural before feeling quite a lot of pain. After finally getting the epidural the nurse checked me and I was at a 9.5 and informed me that I was pretty close to being too late for the epidural. I was relieved I got it when I did! They had me push through 2 contractions because the baby was turned the wrong way. After those contractions he was turned the right way, I pushed through one more contraction and baby Jace was here! It all went super fast which was really nice! He weighed a whopping 8 lbs 10 ounces and was 21 inches long. We all couldn't believe I was carrying such a big baby! He has been the sweetest and best baby and such a blessing in our family. We all just love him to pieces!

Still Here

Well here I am super far behind again and wanting to try to catch up and stay up to date. So much time has passed since the last time I wrote though so I will just give a quick update on each family member.

Marshall is back to working and busy busy! He spends his days working all day long and comes home just in time to eat dinner and see the kids briefly before bedtime. We recently acquired a large account that adds a lot more work which is great news. With this addition we will probably be looking for another work truck and employee to help keep up on the work. We have really been trying to get our house sold, and next month we will be moving into Marshall's parents house while they are on a mission. We are hoping to sell our house quickly so that we can start building again soon.

I had a very uneventful pregnancy this time around which was so nice after having gestational diabetes the last time. We welcomed baby Jace into our family on May 18th, more details on that another time. I am adjusting to life with 3 kids and so far it hasn't been too difficult except for making sure Landen doesn't smother the baby with love.

Sydney finished and graduated preschool. She loved doing preschool and will definitely miss it. We are hoping she will get to start kindergarten this year but we won't know for sure until right before school starts.

Landen has quickly grown into a little boy. He loves cars trucks and balls and loves playing outside. He is talking more and more but is hard to understand most of the time. He loves his sister and loves to be doing exactly what she is doing.

Baby Jace is about 3 weeks old now and is the best baby ever! He sleeps amazingly well at night only waking up to quickly eat then go back to sleep and very rarely wakes up more than twice all night long. He is a very happy and content little guy and we love having him in our family. Life is bit more chaotic now but I'm hoping to try to stay more up to date about what's going on in our lives.

Oh Baby Baby

The picture says it all :) Baby number 3 is joining our family! I am 14 weeks and due  May 20th. We are excited to add another sweet baby to our family!

Arizona

The beginning of September I took the kids and went with my parents and sister to go visit my brothers family in Arizona. I was a little nervous to go, I had never flown with the kids and was worried about going without Marshall. Luckily my parents were on the same flights and they were a big help! Both kids did amazing the whole way there! It was such a relief.

We had a great time seeing everyone, all of us siblings were together for a few days which rarely happens. My kids had a blast playing with cousins so many days in a row! While down there we celebrated my brother Tyler's birthday, attended his graduation and were there for the blessing of their newest baby. It was great being there for all the milestones.

We had fun just hanging out with the family, eating good food, playing, going to the zoo and much more. By the end of the trip we (me) were exhausted from sharing a hotel room with my 2 kids and was definitely ready to get back home to Marshall. We had quite the ordeal trying to get home which is a super long story but we basically got stuck in Denver for an extra day with no luggage. It took us 2 and a half days of traveling to finally make it home. Yikes! Overall I was glad we went and were able to spend time with my family. We love family time!

Trying To Catch Up

Oh man. I am SO behind. When I get behind on the blog I just get overwhelmed with how much I've missed and I just stop trying. Then a few months go by and I finally decide to try and catch back up. So here's a start. There will be more to come!

Sydney's Birthday Celebrations

Sydney's birthday was on September 1st which fell on a Sunday this year. The whole day we did what she wanted to do. Her main request was to have my parents and sister over for dinner. And for dinner she chose spaghetti with meatballs, cottage cheese, and tomatoes. Its her fave! For dessert instead of cake she wanted brownies with ice cream. So we stuck candles in the brownie pan and sang to her (which she hated), and then she opened presents from us. We felt like this year as soon as her birthday hit she had a bigger attitude. I guess that's what happens when you are 4. It was a fun day spending time with her and family.

The weekend before her birthday she had a combined friend party with her cousin Livi. We had it at a gymnastics place and they had so much fun! After planning Landen's big birthday party it was nice to have it at a place where little planning was required! And it was just what the girls wanted!

Preschool

Sydney started preschool this year and so far it is going great! We have really gone back and forth with deciding whether she will start kindergarten next year or wait til the following year. We have decided that we will start her next year even though she will be barely 5 and the youngest in her class. I am excited that she is doing preschool this year to help prepare her for kindergarten. She loves going, she is doing great, and I love that I have 3 hours in the morning 3 times a week to do what I want! It has been so nice!

Arizona

The kids and I flew down to Arizona with my parents and sister to visit my brother Tyler and his family. I will do another post about this one later, but it was so nice to go and see family we don't see very often!

Birthday

I had a birthday and turned 26! My SIL Julie took my kids most of the day and I got to do whatever I wanted ALL DAY LONG. That NEVER happens and it was amazing! That night Marshall and I went on a date and it was just what I needed. It was a good day and I still feel like a teenager! Ha!

Anniversary

We celebrated our 7th Anniversary this year! It is crazy to me that we've already been married 7 years. I look forward to many more to come! We celebrated by going to dinner and then we went shopping for a new TV. Super exciting stuff. Haha! I love my hubbs and I am so lucky to have him!

That's it for now! Hopefully more to come soon :)

The Party

When I first started thinking about planning a party for Landen, I was only going to do a small get together and just do cake and ice cream. Enter Pinterest. I started just browsing ideas for birthday parties and I just got so excited to plan something bigger. I had SO much fun planning and putting it all together and even told Marshall that I could totally be a party planner and I would love every minute. I didn't want a character type party because c'mon, the boy is only one and he has no favorite characters at this point. I saw a few ideas for rainbow/primary color parties and I thought it would be perfect for a first birthday, so I went with it. I didn't want it to be too girly so I omitted the purple. Overall I think things went good, there are things I would change or do differently, but overall I was happy with how it turned out.

I really thought Landen would get into his smash cake, but he was very calm and relaxed about it and just took tiny little bites.

A few times he went in face first to have a little taste. And he kept wanting to share bites with anyone that was standing nearby. But he really didn't end up making too big of a mess.

He got a quick bath in the sink after cake so that he could go back to partying

Landen loves his Grandpas, so it was fitting that he spent a lot of his party hanging out with my Dad. He even opened presents with Grandpa.

He had fun playing with friends and cousins and we loved having so many people to celebrate with.

Landen Turns One!

It's hard to believe that a whole year has passed. I remember so vividly the day and evening before I had him. It seems like just yesterday. It really is an amazing thing, adding a baby to the family. It always takes some adjusting and getting used to. But that new baby fits right in and instantly belongs, and that's how it was with Landen. He took his place in our family and we can't imagine life without our sweet boy. He just fits so perfectly. We love him. To pieces. We spent the day celebrating with friends and family and loving on him. I will post about his party later.
